TKN’S 2022 SCHEDULE PLANS
The AVP schedule finally came out and we could not be more excited. This is the most tournaments the AVP has had in years. We are stoked about the direction this sport is going in. We had a zoom call with the new Bally’s team, and they are going to try and take this sport to bigger and better things.
With the new structure of the AVP, there are 3 tiers… Gold, Pro, and Tour. We wanted to let everyone know as to what we were thinking as far as tournaments we were going to play in. Also, something to keep in mind… they are restructuring the points system, so a lot of this depends on what happens with that. We were currently the #1 team in the AVP, but like I said they are restructuring so we do not believe we will still have that top spot. One of the changes includes taking into consideration international points of which Taryn and I have 0. We are assuming we will still be in the top 10 to start the year but will only know when points come out at the end of this month.
As of right now, we plan on playing all the Gold and Pro series events and hopefully the Phoenix Championships. This means we will be going to Austin, New Orleans, Hermosa, Fort Lauderdale, Atlanta, Manhattan Beach, Chicago, and Atlantic City.
Some of the tour stops that are possibilities are: Muskegon, Denver, Atlantic City, Virginia Beach, and Huntington. These are all just possibilities because we do not know what our bodies will feel like and what the costs of the trips will be. They will kind of be last minute decisions, but we will definitely let you know as soon as we decide.
We know we will not be playing in the Waupaca and Clearwater tournaments, so please do not book a trip there if you are wanting to see us.
Another thing to consider, we are trying to play as many international tournaments as possible this year. We NEED points, which means if there is an international tournament that comes up and we get into it… we will 100% be going international as opposed to staying and playing in the AVP. That is just what we have to do if we want a chance at Paris 2024.
We are super super excited for this season. We had a lot of success last year, and we are hoping we can carry that over to this year. It will be hard but we are certainly up for the challenge.
