Our NC Clinic, Exciting News, & Some Not So Exciting News

Let’s start with our clinic in Raleigh, NC this past weekend!

About a year ago, Taryn and I played in a tournament in Wilmington, NC. While there, we were able to play some queen of the court with some junior players from Sinjin Beach Volleyball Club.

Taryn and I like volleyball and exploring so what do we decide to do on an off weekend? Coach volleyball and explore a new city. The interactions we had with the Sinjin juniors was the reason our first choice was to go there. We messaged them on Instagram and just like that we were coaching clinics November 20-21.

Our time there was fantastic. They have a great group of girls there and the coaches are just a fun group to be around. They invited us to a delicious Friendsgiving, had a nice meal at Gonza, and even sang some Luke Combs together. We will definitely be going back in the near future.

Only downfall to the trip… we almost missed our flight home. Definitely got our hurt rates up at 5:45 in the morning but we made it thankfully!

Now for some not so exciting news for me…

I was scheduled (flights booked and everything) to be going to Switzerland, Germany, and Austria in the middle of December. I have only been out of the country twice in my life, so this was a big trip that I was really looking forward to. With all the recent Covid outbreaks, we had to sadly cancel the trip. So much for taking a vacation.

So, I will just keep training and playing volleyball which I mean is not a bad thing. Also, I am sure Taryn is excited since I know it would have been VERY hard for her to be without me for a week and a half lol.

Now for some pretty exciting news…

The other day, Taryn & I were contacted by the CEO of Sportworx. He oversees the King of the Court series. He reached out asking if we wanted to participate. We immediately asked Drew, and he said, “you have to”. And continued to send us clips from previous King of the Courts. Like usual, we did what Drew said and confirmed that we would play. We booked our flights the next day.

If you have no idea what King of the Court is, you can look into it here: https://www.kingofthecourt.com/ It is not your usual doubles tournament and it does not give you any international points; however, it is a fantastic opportunity to get some international experience. We will be playing against teams from many other countries, and it will help get our names out internationally.

I have not mentioned, it is in Doha, Qatar January 5th-8th, so we get to go to Qatar. Google it immediately! Just wow. So pretty.

It is a 13+ hour nonstop flight from Miami, but I think it will be worth it.
